ESCANABA — AMVETS Post 123 of Escanaba will host musical performers Ghost Riders Friday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m. and The Good Ole Boys on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 7 p.m.

Legion Post 115 to meet

ESCANABA TOWNSHIP — The American Legion Escanaba River Post 115 and auxiliary will meet Wednesday, March 2 at 7:30 p.m. at the Escanaba Township Hall in Flat Rock.

Dance in Rock

ROCK — A dance will be held at the Rock Community/Senior Center, located at 3892 W. Mapleridge Road, on Sunday, March 13 from 1 to 4 p.m. Music will be provided by Old Friends.

Delta Kappa scholarship

ESCANABA — The Delta Kappa Gamma Society has announced it will again award a local high school scholarship to a senior girl planning a career in education.

Delta Kappa Gamma is an international organization of women educators who promote professional and personal growth of women educators. They support and encourage educational excellence and intercultural understanding. The Beta Sigma chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma is composed of Escanaba, Menominee, and Iron Mountain-Kingsford.

Previous local winners of this scholarship include 2021 – Kendra Ann Bouchard (Escanaba), 2020 – Emlyn Verbrigghe (Escanaba), 2019 – Taylor Rae Myers (Escanaba), 2018 – Amber Lynn Smith (Bark River), 2017 – Erica Rubick (Rapid River), 2016 – Mackenzie Leisner (Escanaba), 2015 – Mikaela Jefferson (Escanaba), 2014 – Kristen Leigh Bergstrom (Escanaba), 2013 – Anissa Lynne Godfrey (Gladstone), 2012 – Margaret A. Rose (Escanaba), and 2011 – Lauren Kleinman (Escanaba).
