NARFE Chapter 1900 meeting set for Nov. 17

MARQUETTE — The National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) Chapter 1900 will elect 2022 officers at their next meeting. The group will also hear a presentation by the Michigan representative of Federal Blue Cross Blue Shield. The meeting will begin at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 17, and will be offered in person and on Zoom.

The in-person meeting will be in Room B of the Marquette Senior Center, 300 W. Spring Street in Marquette, on the lower level of City Hall. Spring Street is one-way from east to west.

Chapter members will receive the Zoom link by email. Members who are not on the chapter email distribution list and who want to receive the Zoom link and passcode should email upmags@gmail.com.

NARFE Chapter 1900 will not meet in December.

Any active or retired Federal employees are invited to attend NARFE meetings. Non-members are welcome as guests.

NARFE Chapter 1900 was chartered in 1983 and includes members from the Marquette, Escanaba, Rapid River, Ontonagon, L’Anse, Houghton and Hancock areas. For additional information, email upmags@gmail.com.

St. Anthony-St. Thomas Christmas dinner

ESCANABA — St. Anthony and St. Thomas parishes will host their annual Christmas dinner and bazaar from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5 at the St. Thomas Parish Hall, 1820 9th Ave. N., in Escanaba. There is a fee for the dinner, but kids five and under eat free. Curbside pickup is available from 1 to 2 p.m. by reservation.

Pickup reservations should be called in to Sharon at 786-6380, between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m., by Dec. 1. Regular takeout orders will also be available.

The bazaar will offer a raffle of themed gift baskets, a silent auction, 50/50 raffles and silver dollar, craft and bake sale booths.
