ESCANABA — Amvets Post 123 in Escanaba will host The Country Slingers on Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. and KJ Karaoke on Oct. 16, also at 7 p.m.

Wells Lions Club raffle

WELLS — The Wells Lions Club has announced the winners of its 52-week raffle for the weeks of Oct. 4 and Oct. 11. The winners are Jim Broman of Gladstone and Jill Johnsen of Escanaba. Both winners received $100. These were weeks 10 and 11 of the raffle.

AAUW to meet Oct. 21

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Area Branch of American Association of University Women (AAUW) will hold its Oct. 21 meeting at 6:30 p.m. at St. Stephen’s Church, located at 500 Ogden Ave.

The topic for the evening is “Famous AAUW Women” and will feature ten women in recent and past American history who have played important roles in the society.

Dessert and coffee will be provided. Those interested in attending should call 786-3415 no later than Oct. 17.
