MARQUETTE -- Deacon Benjamin Rivard was ordained to the priesthood at St. Peter Cathedral on Friday, June 4 at 3 p.m. by Bishop John Doerfler. Rivard attended Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit, and his home parish is All Saints in Gladstone. His parents are Jim and Michelle Rivard and he is the oldest of 10 children.
As he approaches his ordination, Rivard expressed his excitement.
"Even though it has been a challenge learning how to minister as a deacon in the middle of a pandemic, the Lord has blessed me with a zealous love for ordained ministry. I can't wait to be a priest."
