Legion recognizes bugler for years of service
GLADSTONE — Memorial Day celebrations in Watson, Northland and Flat Rock were put on by the Escanaba River American Legion Post 115 each year was extra special this year. Commander Rano Maki presented a plaque to Casey DeShambo of Escanaba. A certificate of appreciation for outstanding service as a bugler for 10 years.
DeShambo started playing when he was in high school for memorial services and funerals. He went off to college and has now returned, but he continued returning each year while away to participate in the services. He plays Taps on a World War II bugle giving to him by a Legion member Jack Way.
