Flag disposal planned for Monday in Gladstone

GLADSTONE — The Sons of American Legion Gladstone Squad 71 will be holding a flag disposal ceremony on Monday, June 14. It will be at 6 p.m. at the Delta County Veterans Park in Gladstone, located at the corner of 8th Street and Superior Avenue behind the Gladstone American Legion.

The ceremony is to dispose of old flags that are no longer serviceable. If the flag is faded, torn, or other conditions they need to be properly disposed.

The public is invited to attend and are encouraged to bring their old flags to this event. For any question, call American Legion at 906-428-1050.

Bay de Noc Lions Club seeks meetings

ESCANABA — The Bay de Noc Lions Club celebrated its first anniversary in April and is waiving registration fees until the end of June. The club welcomes everyone who can provide some time to volunteer and help others.

The group supports Maggie’s Wigs for Kids, the fight against childhood cancer, Project Kidsight, hearing aid assistance, diabetes awareness, and more.

Escanaba Class of ’70 Reunion Committee

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Class of ’70 Reunion Committee will meet on Tuesday, June 22 at 1 p.m. at the House Of Ludington to plan its 50th reunion one year late. The reunion will take place Sept. 17 and 18.
