The boardwalk shown was built to accommodate passengers, and the passenger train ran through the late 1960s. This year marks the sesquicentennial, 150th anniversary, for Bark River. There will be a history room set up at the Bark River Senior Center this coming 4th of July weekend for the public to visit. An extended celebration will continue in 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
