Veterans mobile pantry

RAPID RIVER — A free food giveaway for veterans is set for Dec. 17, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., or until food runs out. The veterans mobile pantry will be located at 10556 Pine Street, Rapid River.

This mobile pantry is only for veterans. Veterans are asked to have their veteran ID, DL enhancement, VA ID, or DD214. Please do not get out of the vehicle, do not wander around the distribution site, and do not bring boxes — they will be provided.

Homeless shelter ­volunteer training

ESCANABA — Training for those wishing to volunteer at the Hope at the Inn mobile homeless shelter will be on Monday, Dec. 14, at 5:30 p.m. at the Salvation Army.
