Swoosh

By Paul Names

Swoosh! There goes the ball. The crowd is wild. The batter is so fast that the sand is in the air.

Swoosh! That’s how fast Covid hit, but hey, look at the bright side. We can stay home, relax, sleep more.

Covid hit so fast that this year’s baseball was canceled. It was sad that day when my dad said, “Son, sorry, but baseball is done this year.” I felt the sadness in the air. It was colder than ice — so cold that I was shivering. That’s how cold it was. Swoosshhhh!
