American Legion Service Officer in Rapid River

RAPID RIVER — The American Legion Service Officer will visit Post 301 of Rapid River on the first, second, and fourth Wednesday of the month. The officer will be available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

American Legion Service Officers are specially trained to provide expert assistance, free of charge, to veterans and their families. While the majority of a service officer’s work involves application for VA disability benefits, the officers also provide information, referrals and resources on education, employment and business, death benefits and other important topics.

AA and Al-Anon ­meetings at Alano Club

GLADSTONE — The Delta Alano Club continues to hold both Alcoholics Anonymous and Al-Anon family group meetings at its building, located at 601 Michigan Ave., Gladstone. Masks are required at all meetings.

The meeting schedule is as follows:

Tuesdays

Al-Anon (open) — 7:30 p.m.

A.A. (closed) — 7:30 p.m.

Thursdays

Al-Anon — 11 a.m.

A.A. (closed) — 7:30 p.m.

American Legion Walter W. Cole Post 301

RAPID RIVER — Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and taking into consideration the health issues and average age of its members and clientele as a whole, the active and voting members of Walter W. Cole Post 301 in Rapid River have decided to forgo its normal fundraisers — breakfasts and turkey dinner — until 2021.

Seventh Day Adventist food pantry hours

ESCANABA — The Community Service Center food pantry adjacent to the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Escanaba is open from 1 to 4 p.m. on Monday and Friday.
