ESCANABA — On July 11, supporters of President Donald Trump will be driving a 220-mile loop around the central Upper Peninsula.

The Yoopers For Trump “Road Trip” will leave from the parking lot of the former Escanaba Shopko. Participants are asked to arrive early.

The tentative tour schedule includes the Mackinaw Trail Winery and Brewery in Manistique from 11 a.m. to noon, the old Shopko in Munising from 1 to 2 p.m., and the old Shopko or the mall in Marquette from 3 to 4 p.m. The event will end around 5:30 or 6 p.m. in Escanaba at Ludington Park with special guest Rob Cortis and the Trump Unity Bridge.

The Trump Unity Bridge is a decorated float shaped like a bridge and featuring signage that includes Trump’s name in large letters. Those coming to see the Unity Bridge are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and coolers.

Participants driving in the tour can start or stop wherever they choose along the “road trip” route. Starting in Escanaba is not necessary for the event.
