Kaikkonen graduates from United States Army War College

Lt. Col. John Kaikkonen

CARLISLE, Penn. — Lt. Col. John Kaikkonen of the United States Army Reserve graduated from the United States Army War College at Carlisle, Penn. with a master’s degree in strategic studies on July 24.

A native of Escanaba, Kaikkonen graduated from Northern Michigan University in 1999. He currently lives in Tumwater, Wash. with his wife, Darby; sons, Jake and Gavin; and is assigned to the United States Army Reserve Aviation Command. Kaikkonen is the son of Robert and Marylin Kaikkonen, of Escanaba.

The U.S. Army War College’s two-year distance education curriculum educates and develops senior military officers from the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard, as well as senior foreign military ­officers and civilian officials from a variety of federal agencies, to serve in strategic level command and staff positions worldwide.
