Escanaba Class of 1965 postpones reunion

ESCANABA — Due to the restrictions and limitations brought about by the coronavirus, the Escanaba Class of 1965 has decided to postpone the planned August reunion until 2021. The committee regrets any inconvenience this may cause classmates, particularly those who were traveling to the events from out of the area.

The class Facebook group, “Escanaba Class of 1965,” will continue to provide information on classmates as well as reunion updates. Classmates are asked to continue to provide updated contact information via email to markhmiller5389@yahoo.com.

Legion Service Officer

RAPID RIVER — The American Legion Service Officer will visit Post 301 of Rapid River on the first, second, and fourth Wednesday of the month. The officer will be available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

American Legion Service Officers are specially trained to provide expert assistance, free of charge, to veterans and their families. While the majority of a service officer’s work involves application for VA disability benefits, the officers also provide information, referrals and resources on education, death benefits and other important topics.
