GHS Class of 1970 50th class reunion canceled

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone High School Class of 1970 50th reunion scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 5 has been canceled due to COVID-19. The reunion committee will update classmates with any plans for another reunion.

Rapid Readers to meet

RAPID RIVER — Maintaining safe social distance, perhaps using patio-seating, the Rapid Readers will meet Thursday, July 16 to discuss “Speaking Truth to Power” by Anita Hill and “Before We Were Yours” by Lisa Wingate. The group will meet at Jack’s at 10 a.m.

The August discussion is penciled in for the second Thursday of the month — a departure from the group’s typical third-Thursday meetings — on Aug. 13 at Jack’s. The August novels are “The Huntress” by Kate Quinn and Jim Harrison’s “The Great Leader.”
