MERITT ISLAND, Fla. — Prior to our national crisis, the 34th Annual Florida Yooper Picnic was held on Saturday, March 7. Picnic attendees enjoyed a beautiful, sunny afternoon at Kiwanis Island Park on Merritt Island near Melbourne, Fla. Snowbird Yoopers, permanent transplanted Yoopers, and vacationing Yoopers came together to enjoy a delicious potluck lunch and wonderful U.P. camaraderie. Old friends took the opportunity to catch up and new friendships were forged.

The group would like to thank the Yooper Trap in Ishpeming for donating the Yooper swag door prizes for all. Mystery author James R. Nelson was also in attendance for a book signing featuring his Upper Peninsula themed mystery novels.
