Delta County COVID-19 Night of Prayer tonight

ESCANABA — Wednesday night, April 1, at 9 p.m. community members are invited to participate in the Delta County COVID-19 Night of Prayer. To participate, residents are asked to go out to their car, start it, turn on their lights and flashers, and pray inside the vehicle.

A Facebook page for the event with more information can be found at https://tinyurl.com/w4ckexc. Participants are asked to take a photo or short video of their car’s flashing lights or of cars on their block and post it to the page.

Organizers suggest praying for an end to the COVID-19 pandemic, leaders, healthcare professionals on the front lines, first responders, truckers, and all those doing jobs that are essential in this time of need.

Car-side blessings today

ESCANABA — On Wednesday, April 1, Father Timothy T. Ferguson of St. Joseph and St. Patrick Parish, located at 709 1st Ave. South in Escanaba, will be giving a blessing to anyone that shows up in the parking lot. He will be walking around the parking lot with the Exposed Blessed Sacrament, and is asking everyone to stay in their car with the windows rolled up.

Wells Lions raffle ­winners named

WELLS — The winners of the Wells Lions Club 52 week raffle for March 30 is Bob and Lois Buckland of Gladstone, who won $100. This was week 35 of the raffle.
