Erickson reaches pinnacle rank in Air Force

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Jamie Erickson, son of Jerry and Rita Erickson of Rapid River, and brother of Audree Erickson Orna of Castle Rock, Colo. and Kaylee Erickson Reynolds of Hillsdale, Mich., has been promoted to Chief Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force.

Erickson is a 1998 graduate of Gladstone High School and enlisted Dec. 8, 1998.

He is a civil engineer assigned to the 28th Civil Engineer Squadron as the explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) flight chief at Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota.

He will be stationed at Langley Air Force base in Virginia in June.

With this promotion, Erickson will have achieved the highest rank an enlisted air force member can achieve. Only one percent of enlisted members achieve this rank.
