Breakfast at St. Thomas

ESCANABA — St. Thomas Church, located at 1820 9th Ave. North, Escanaba, will hold a breakfast Sunday, Feb. 2 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The public is welcome. There is a fee for the breakfast.

GHS Class of 1970 plans reunion meeting

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone High School Class of 1970 is holding a 50-year class reunion meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 3 p.m. at 1204 Lake Shore Drive, Gladstone. All classmates are encouraged to attend. Information concerning the progress of the reunion can be viewed on Facebook by searching “Gladstone High School Class of 1970.”

Elks Auxiliary to meet

ESCANABA — The Elks Auxiliary will hold their February meeting on Thursday, Feb. 6. Social hour is at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting to follow. Contact Peggy at 786-4278 or text her at 280-1585 with reservations or cancellations by Monday, Feb. 3 at noon.

Veteran Service Officer sets office hours

HERMANSVILLE — Menominee County Veterans Service Officer Mike Dellisse will be holding office hours Wednesday, Feb. 5 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Floriano-Stecker-Kelly American Legion Hall in Hermansville.

Veterans or widows that need assistance with the Veterans Administration, claims with the Administration, Agent Orange, headstones, grave-markers, or information on the Oscar Johnson Veterans Administration Medical Center in Iron Mountain should see Dellisse on visit to Hermansville. Dellisse can also answer questions about the Michigan Veterans Trust Fund for Menominee County.

EAHS Class of 1970 to hold reunion meeting

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Area High School Class of 1970 will hold a reunion meeting at Mo’s Pub on Feb. 3 at noon. All classmates welcome to attend.

Sons of Union Veterans to meet Saturday

MARQUETTE — Camp 266 of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War will hold their bi-monthly meeting on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 1 p.m. in the old board room at the Jacobetti Veterans Home in Marquette. The room is on the lower level of the building and is easily accessible from the rear parking lot.

The key agenda item is the Civil War display in the new Upper Peninsula Veterans Museum in Escanaba.

The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War is a fraternal organization dedicated to preserving the history and legacy of the heroes who fought and worked to save the Union. Camp 266 includes members from across the Upper Peninsula. The focus of the camp is locating, marking, and maintaining graves of Civil War veterans as well as researching Civil War history.

Anyone interested in the organization — including women — is welcome to attend. More information is available from Camp Commander Patrick Kennedy at uppermichigan@yahoo.com or 906- 863-7686. Also, contact him in the event of inclement weather to see if the meeting has been cancelled.

Dance in Rock Feb. 9

ROCK — There will be a dance at the Rock Senior Center, located at 3892 W. Maple Ridge Rd, on Sunday, Feb. 9 from 1 to 4 p.m. Live music will be provided by Ron Jay and the Country Strangers.

There is a cost to attend the dance and lunch will be available for a free-will donation.

All proceeds benefit the Senior Corporation.
