Wells Lions Club raffle winner announced

WELLS — The winner of the Wells Lions 52 Club Raffle for the week of Jan. 6 is Willard LaMarche of Escanaba, who won $100. This was week 23 of the raffle.

Blue Mass planned

ESCANABA — A special “Blue Mass” will be held in honor of first responders and those who have fallen in the line of duty at St. Joseph & St. Patrick Parish in Escanaba on Jan. 26.

The service is for people of all faiths. All police officers, correctional officers, firefighters, military, dispatchers, EMT personnel or anyone who serves the public is welcome to attend, in uniform or not.

Medals will be distributed, and Fr. Tim Ferguson will be happy to bless any and all vehicles after Mass. Public safety officers will receive free breakfast after mass at a parish breakfast fundraiser.

Those wishing to attend are asked to RSVP by calling 906-789-6244. Th church is located at 709 1st Ave. South.

Live music at Amvets

ESCANABA — Amvets Post 123 in Escanaba will host the classic country music band “Angels and Outlaws” Jan. 10 at 7 p.m. On Jan. 11, a jam session will be held for those who play an instrument from 5 to 9 p.m.

Elks brunch Sunday

ESCANABA — The Elks Lodge 354 in Escanaba will have its monthly brunch Sunday, Jan. 12.

GFWC January meeting

ESCANABA — All women in the area are welcome to attend the January GFWC Membership meeting at Pacinos Restaurant on Wednesday, Jan. 15 at 11:45 a.m. A luncheon will be served, and the program focuses on local recycling.

Dance in Rock Jan. 12

ROCK — There will be a dance at the Rock Senior Center, located at 3892 W. Mapleridge Rd., on Sunday, Jan. 12 from 1 to 4 p.m. Music will be provided by Old Friends. There is a cost at a the door, and a free-will donation lunch will be available.

All proceeds benefit the Senior Corporation. For more information, call Becky at 630-3338.

Cornell seniors to meet

CORNELL — Cornell Township Hall Seniors meet the first Thursday of the month. The next meeting will be held Feb. 6. Lunch will be at noon, and attendees are asked to bring a dish to pass.

There will be a small bingo gift for those who want to play.

Women’s March 2020

MARQUETTE — Women’s March 2020 will take place in Marquette Saturday, Jan. 18.

Demonstrators are asked to gather at the Marquette Commons at noon. The march and rally will follow at 1 p.m. and will end at the Marquette Commons.

The “Rise UP Post Reception” will follow from 2 to 5 p.m. at Ore Dock Brewing Company.

Sing Off event returns

NAHMA — The fourth annual Sing Off will be held at the Nahma General Store on Saturday, Jan. 18 at 7 p.m. The singer registration fee is payable by 6:30 p.m. that evening.

Singers must be at least 18 years old and have their own professional karaoke CDG. First, second, and third place prizes will be awarded. Call Mary at 906-474-6109 or 906-420-0610 to sign up.

Mystery box and basket drawings will also be available.

The event is sponsored by the Isabella Community Hall Committee.
