ESCANABA — Boy Scouts Troop 411 of Escanaba will be holding a bottle and can drive as a fundraiser on Jan. 5 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to support Troop functions.

Scouts and leaders will be in uniform collecting bottles and cans at Elmer’s County Market and at Wal-Mart. All of the funds raised at the bottle and can drive stay here in Escanaba with the Troop and the area boys. For those who do not have cans or bottles to donate, a donation can will be available.

Funds from the drive, along with funds from the annual popcorn sale, are the major funding sources for the troop. The funds help the Troop provide a quality program to the boys, and help fund events like going to Camp Hiawatha, Mackinac Island Service Camp, National Youth Leadership Training, and Capital Trip for Merit Badge and many more.

The Troop would like to thank the community for its continued support. For any questions about the drive, or to have a big bag of cans picked up, please contact Troop 411 Treasurer Betty Williams at williamsbetty82@gmail.com or 906-280-0717.
