Eskymo Fan Club raffle winners announced

ESCANABA -- Winners drawn for the Eskymo Fan Club Fall Raffle were Heidi Robitaille, Bette Beck, Bruce Belanger, Amber Delvaux, Charla Krenek, Cindy Bush, Karin Beveridge, Bink's Coca Cola Bottling, Bob Jozaitis, and Dianne Lawson.

The fan club would like to thank all who bought tickets.

Lions raffle winners

WELLS -- The winners of the Wells Lions 52 Club Raffle for Oct. 12 are Dale Koepp of Escanaba and Dale Smith of Escanaba. Koepp and Smith won $250 each. This was week 12 of the raffle.

North Woods Halloween

ESCANABA -- North Woods Place is having a Halloween Party Saturday, Oct. 26, from 1 to 3 p.m. The public is welcome to enjoy trick-or-treating with the seniors, some festive fall treats and fun halloween activities.

MARSP to meet Nov. 5

ESCANABA -- The November meeting of MARSP will be held at noon, on Nov. 5 at the Joseph Heirman University Center on the campus of Bay de Noc Community College. Attendees should use the Danforth Road entrance.

Lunch will be served buffet-style.

The financial director from the Island Resort and Casino will be the guest speaker and will discuss how monies from the casino are used in the community.

Members are encouraged to bring used eyeglasses to the meeting. Reservations must be made no later than Oct. 28. If you are not on a calling list, call 906-786-7748 to make reservations.

'Halloween Tails' at the Gladstone Public Library

GLADSTONE -- The Gladstone Public Library will host a "Halloween Tails!" story hour on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.. All children ages two to ten years old are welcome to join in the spine-tingling festivities and will enjoy special hair-raising tales, spooky music, crafts and a special treat. Guests are asked to come dressed in their best costume.

No registration is necessary. For more information, call 428-4224. This story hour is sponsored by the Friends of the Gladstone Library.

Fish fry fundraiser

ESCANABA -- Delta County Democratic Party Annual Fish Fry fundraiser will be Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Plumbers and Pipefitters Hall, Local 111, located at 2601 N. 30th St. in Escanaba.

Social hour will be at 5 p.m. with the dinner at 6 p.m.

Harvest Bazaar

GARDEN -- Garden Christian Fellowship along with Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church will hold their Harvest Bazaar, Silent Basket Auction and Luncheon on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at 6411 State St. in Garden.

Legion opens library

RAPID RIVER -- Walter W. Cole American Legion Post 301 in Rapid River has opened a library in the legion hall.

The library is free to all and is open from 5 to 9 p.m. Mondays, Service Officer Wednesday, as well as any other days that the hall is open to the public.

Also, the Legion Hall is available for rental. For more information, contact Carl at 906-399-8517.

Taco Tuesday returns

GLADSTONE -- Taco Tuesday is back at the Gladstone American Legion Post 71. Serving is from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The public is welcome.

The events are held at Gladstone American Legion Auxiliary Unit 71, 802 Delta Ave. in Gladstone.
