Dance in Rock Nov. 10

ROCK — A dance will be held at the Rock Community/Senior Center, located at 3892 W. Mapleridge Rd, on Sunday, Nov. 10 from 1 to 5 p.m. Live music will be performed by Old Friends. St. Thomas pasty sale

AAUW ‘Homes for the Holidays’ tours return

ESCANABA — The American Association of University Women (AAUW) will once again hold a “Homes for the Holidays” house tour. This year, five Gladstone homes will be featured on the tours, which will be held from 1 until 4 p.m. on Dec. 8.

Tickets will be available after Oct. 28 at the following businesses: Positively, located at 1212 Ludington St. in Escanaba; Gust Asp, located at 616 Ludington St. in Escanaba; and The Frame Farm, located at 920 Delta Ave. in Gladstone.

Proceeds from the project provide funding for the two AAUW scholarships at Bay College.

AAUW was established in 1881. It is open to men and women holding an associates’ degree or higher. It promotes gender equity and life-long learning. It is globally recognized as the most prominent organization that supports pay equity for women. For more information on AAUW, call 399-6080.

Fish fry fundraiser

ESCANABA — Delta County Democratic Party Annual Fish Fry fundraiser will be Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Plumbers and Pipefitters Hall, Local 111, located at 2601 N. 30th St. in Escanaba. Social hour will be at 5 p.m. with the dinner at 6 p.m.

‘Halloween Tails’ at the Gladstone Public Library

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone Public Library will host a “Halloween Tails!” story hour on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. All children ages two to ten years old are welcome to join in the spine-tingling festivities and will enjoy special hair-raising tales, spooky music, crafts and a special treat. Guests are asked to come dressed in their best costume.

Pancake breakfast set

HERMANSVILLE — An all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast will be held on Sunday, Oct. 27 at the Floriano-Stecker-Kelly Post 340 in Hermansville.

MARSP to meet Nov. 5

ESCANABA — The November meeting of MARSP will be held at noon, on Nov. 5 at the Joseph Heirman University Center on the campus of Bay de Noc Community College. Attendees should use the Danforth Road entrance.

Lunch will be served buffet-style.

The financial director from the Island Resort and Casino will be the guest speaker and will discuss how monies from the casino are used in the community.

Members are encouraged to bring used eyeglasses to the meeting. Reservations must be made no later than Oct. 28. If you are not on a calling list, call 906-786-7748 to make reservations.

Red Shirt Night planned

ESCANABA — Escanaba Eagles 1088 at 608 Ludington St. will be holding Red Shirt Night on Nov. 2. Dinner will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

There will be raffles, 50/50 drawings, and music by The Grand Design from 8 p.m. to midnight.

Members can purchase tickets now through 7 p.m. on Oct. 27. The public can purchase tickets from Oct. 20 through 7 p.m. on Oct 27.
