Events at Amvets

ESCANABA — Amvets Post 123 in Escanaba will host “Country Slingers” Oct. 11 starting at 7 p.m.

Also on Oct. 12, the post will host karaoke by “Raven Madness” beginning at 7 p.m.

Amvets Ladies Auxiliary Post 123 will be hosting “Football Bingo” on Oct. 13. The event starts at 4 p.m. and all proceeds from Football Bingo go back to the community.

Lions raffle winner named

WELLS — The winner of the Wells Lions Club 52 Raffle for the week of Oct. 7 is Bill Nault of Escanaba, who won $100. This is week ten of the raffle.

Meals planned at Elks

ESCANABA — The Elks Friday Fish Fry will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. Oct. 11. Sunday brunch at the Elks will be held Oct. 13 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Harvest Dinner Sunday

GLADSTONE — All Saints Church in Gladstone, located on the corner of 8th Street and Wisconsin Avenue, will hold its Annual Harvest Dinner on Sunday, Oct. 13 from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

All proceeds go to purchase Christmas baskets for the needy. There is a cost to attend the dinner. A raffle drawing will take place at 2 p.m. A silver dollar game and other children’s games will also take place.

Escanaba Indian Ed Fall Feast set for Tuesday

ESCANABA — Escanaba Area School’s Title VI Indian Education Program invites the public to its annual Fall Feast and forum. It will be held at the Upper Elementary cafeteria on Tuesday, Oct. 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. Enter at the handicapped-accessible entrance on the west side of the building.

Taco Tuesday planned

GLADSTONE — Taco Tuesday is back at the Gladstone American Legion Post 71. Serving is from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The public is welcome. The events are held at Gladstone American Legion Auxiliary Unit 71, 802 Delta Ave, in Gladstone.

Delta Cluster Fall Gathering Oct. 19

RAPID RIVER — The Delta Cluster Fall Gathering will be held on Saturday, Oct. 19 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Rapid River. The theme for the morning is “Celebrating Women,” presented by Pastor Terry Frankenstein. Registration begins at 9:15.

The in-gathering offering will be for the Backpack Program in Manistique. The in-kind offering will be going to Pregnancy Services of Delta County. Suggested donations include diapers (sizes newborn – size 5), crib sheets, receiving blankets, baby bath towels, child protective devices for outlets, baby-safe doors and cupboard adapters, baby nail clippers, rattles and sleepers.

Attendees are asked to RSVP by Oct.16 by calling the church office at 906-474-9353. Leave a message if there is no answer.

Bay de Noc Stamp and Coin Club to meet

ESCANABA — The next meeting of the Bay de Noc Stamp and Coin Club is Monday, Oct. 14 at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Joseph Heirman University Center, room 961, at Bay College. The public is always welcome at the meetings, and anyone with coins or stamps needing appraisal are invited.

American Legion ­breakfast set for Oct. 13

RAPID RIVER — The Rapid River Legion Post 301 will hold an all-you-can-eat breakfast on Sunday, Oct. 13 from 8 a.m. until noon. There is a fee for the breakfast.
