Taco Tuesday returns

GLADSTONE — Taco Tuesday is returning at the Gladstone American Legion Post 71 starting Sept. 10, serving from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The public is welcome. The events are held at Gladstone American Legion Auxiliary Unit 71, 802 Delta Ave, in Gladstone.

Cribbage season now underway in Gladstone

GLADSTONE — The Bay de Noc Cribbage Club 218 2019-2020 season is underway. The cribbage club meets every Monday night for 36 weeks. It is a part of the American Cribbage Congress and plays by their rules. Nine games are played each time with the top 25 percent getting paid.

Play begins at 7 p.m. at the Lake Bluff Retirement Village. For more information, call Donna Aird at 428-3844 or 280-1033.

Schoolhouse Museum closed for season

GARDEN — The Garden Peninsula Historical Society has closed the Schoolhouse Museum for the 2019 season. It will reopen in June, of 2020. The Historical Society would like to thank all the volunteers for their help.

Wells Lions raffle winner

WELLS — The winner of the Wells Lions 52 Club raffle for Sept. 2 is Dave Corrigan of Escanaba, who won $100. This is week five of the raffle.

Rapid Readers to meet

RAPID RIVER — The Rapid Readers’ novel for September is Louise Penny’s “The Cruelest Month.” The next meeting will take place at Jack’s Restaurant in Rapid River, Thursday, Sept. 12 at 10 a.m. The new book lists will be available. Legion Auxiliary starts monthly meetings

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone American Legion Auxiliary Unit 71 will resume its monthly meetings on Sept. 12. The meeting will start at 6 p.m.

GFWC to hold dinner meeting Thursday

ESCANABA — The first general meeting of the season for the GFWC Escanaba Woman’s Club will be held at Pacino’s Restaurant inside the Magnuson Grand Pioneer Inn and Suites, Escanaba, on Thursday, Sept. 12. Social hour will begin at 5:15 p.m. and the dinner meeting at 6 p.m. There is a cost for dinner. Guests are welcome.

Charity Ball “Party with a Purpose” will be Saturday, Dec. 7, at the Terrace Bay Hotel. Tickets will be available at the dinner meeting and also available at Gust Asp Party Store, The Morrison Shop, Lisa Ann, and Trotter’s Floral after Sept. 12. Holy Name Class of 1970 planning reunion

ESCANABA — The Holy Name High School class of 1970 will have a second reunion planning luncheon on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 11 a.m. EST, at the Family Inn restaurant in Wells, Mich.

Audubon Club meeting

ESCANABA — The Bay de Noc Audubon Club will resume its monthly meetings with its first meeting of the 2019-2020 year on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Joseph Heirman University Center at Bay College, room 961.

This meeting is open to anyone interested in birding. There is no charge.

Toastmasters to meet

ESCANABA — Bay De Noc Toastmasters develops communication and leadership skills every Wednesday, except the last Wednesday of the month, at noon in the Penstar Building, located at 1431 N. 26th St. in Escanaba.
