Wheelin’ Sportsmen demos today at market

GLADSTONE — Ken Buckholtz of the Wheelin’ Sportsmen will be at the Gladstone Farmers Market Monday, Sept. 9 from 3 to 6 p.m. Buckholtz will be demonstrating the equipment he uses to help hunters and anglers with disabilities enjoy the outdoors.

The Gladstone market is open every Monday through October from 3 to 6 p.m.

Annual Forest Service Retirees breakfast

ESCANABA — The annual Forest Service Retirees breakfast will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 17, at 9 a.m. at the Drifters Restaurant in Escanaba. If you plan to attend, contact Pat at 906-786-7926.

Audubon Club meeting

ESCANABA — The Bay de Noc Audubon Club will resume its monthly meetings with its first meeting of the 2019-2020 year on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Heirman Building, Bay College, room 961.

This meeting is open to anyone interested in birding. There is no charge.

Life Chain event Oct. 6

ESCANABA — A Prayerful Life Chain, part of a nationwide pro-life prayer event, will take place Sunday, Oct. 6, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Participants will stand along Lincoln Road to pray.

Delta Coin Club to meet

GLADSTONE — The next meeting of the Delta Coin Club will be Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 6 p.m. The club meets every second Tuesday at 817 Delta Ave. in Gladstone. New members or anyone interested in coins are always welcome. An auction of coins; planning for the coin show and other topics will be brought up.

Sons of the American Legion to meet Sept. 12

GLADSTONE — The next meeting of the Gladstone Sons of the American Legion Squadron #71 will be Thursday, Sept. 12 at 7:30 p.m. The Sons meet at American Legion, 802 Delta Ave. Gladstone.

St. Thomas pasty sale

ESCANABA — The St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church Pasty Sale will take place Sept.16 and 17 from 2 to 5 p.m. Pick up will be at the parish hall, located at 1820 9th Avenue North.

Veterans Council to meet

ESCANABA — Delta County Veterans Council will hold its next regular meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, at the Purple Heart Building, 1202 Sheridan Road.

Day Services seeks printed materials

ESCANABA — Community Action Agency Adult Day Services, formerly Perspectives Adult Care Center is in need of your old greeting cards and magazines to be used in different activities.

The pictures will be used to make notepads, bookmarks, and daily placemats. Cards do not have to be taken apart, as they will be incorporated into an activity.

Items may be dropped off at Community Action Adult Day Services, located at the Gary Abrahamson Jr. Memory Care Center, 2635 1st Ave. S. in Escanaba (past West Highland, the last building on the left behind Bishop Noa Home) or at any senior center in the Delta County area.
