Area residents get degrees from LSSU at Bay

ESCANABA — Seven area residents have earned bachelor’s degrees from Lake Superior State University (LSSU). Graduates achieved their degrees through LSSU’s Escanaba/Iron Mountain Regional Center, which offers baccalaureate degree programs for students on Bay College campuses.

Graduating with a bachelor’s of science in business administration are Amanda Hess of Wilson, Tristan Kuntze of Daggett, Terri Meinander of Gladstone, Stephanie Porath of Escanaba, Sara Scheuren of Escanaba, and Eric Schneider of Iron Mountain. In addition to the students’ baccalaureate degrees, Porath earned a minor in accounting/finance, while Kuntze and Meinander earned minors in marketing.

Schneider graduated Summa Cum Laude, earning a 3.90-4.00 cumulative grade point average on a 4.00 scale; and Kuntze graduated with Cum Laude honors, earning a 3.50-3.69 GPA.

Graduating with a bachelor’s of science in early childhood education with a sociology minor is Kelsey Rogers of Florence, Mich.

“As a wife and mom who works full-time, I am grateful that LSSU offered courses at the regional center so that I could complete my bachelor’s degree locally. I would highly recommend attending LSSU and to check out the degrees offered in Escanaba. Many Miigwetchs (thanks) to Heidi Berg and all the staff at LSSU for all you do,” said Hess.
