Local students graduate from UW-Stevens Point
STEVENS POINT, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point conferred degrees on more than 1,250 graduates during the university’s spring commencement ceremonies on May 18, including many to local students.
From Escanaba were:
Erica Baker, who received a Bachelor of Science in communication-media studies; Aimee Giese, who received a Bachelor of Science in biology; Makayla Houle, who received a Bachelor of Science in Biology; and Maranda LaFave, who received a Clinical Doctorate in audiology.
From Rapid River, Averi Kanyuh received a Bachelor of Science in athletic training.
Graduates, their guests and faculty members were addressed by Dale Klapmeier, co-founder and chief executive officer of Cirrus Aircraft and a 1983 graduate of UW-Stevens Point.
Ceremonies were held at 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. for associate, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees at the UW-Stevens Point Multi-Activity Center in Marshfield Clinic Health System Champions Hall (formerly the Health Enhancement Center).
