Wells Lions 52 club ­raffle winner named

WELLS — The winner of the Wells Lions Club raffle for the week of July 15 is Barb Tebear of Escanaba. Tebear won $100. This was week 50 of the raffle.

Pocket Park volunteers needed for fair week

ESCANABA — The DNR Pocket Park, located at the U.P. State Fairgrounds in Escanaba, is in need of 200 volunteers from Aug. 12 through 18 for the fair. If you can spare some time, call Jo Ann Alexander at 906-786-2351 or Kristi Dahlstrom at 906-226-1331 for more details and shift information.

Eagles to hold breakfast

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Eagles 1088 will serve breakfast Sunday, July 21, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Eagles Hall, located at 608 Ludington St. in Escanaba.

The public is welcome to attend. There is a fee to attend the breakfast. For more information, call the Escanaba Eagles Club at 786-3451.

Isabella Farmers Market

ISABELLA — The Isabella Farmers Market will be open each Friday at the Isabella Community Hall, located on U.S. 2 and County Road 495, beginning July 19 from 3 to 6 p.m.

Studio tour and salad luncheon in Garden

GARDEN — On Saturday, July 20, the Village Artisans of Garden will sponsor a tour of artists’ studios and a salad luncheon. This annual event showcases different places of interest on the peninsula each year. The proceeds are used for the children’s art and enrichment programs the Village Artisans provide.

The studios this year will feature painting, pottery, glass working and wood carving. An added attraction will be a presentation on wool artistry and fiber to be repeated at intervals throughout the day in the workroom of the Garden Gallery.

Tickets for the tour, along with a brochure and map, may be obtained at the Garden Gallery, 6763 State Street in Garden beginning at 10 a.m. on July 20. The tour will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the luncheon will be served at St. John Hall from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Come Sail Away event

ESCANABA — On Saturday, July 20, the Escanaba Yacht Club will host their annual “Come Sail Away” event. The public is invited to enjoy a one-hour ride on a sailboat or a powerboat. This is a great way for people who have never been on a boat to experience our beautiful Little Bay de Noc.

Call 280-4644 to register for a 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m. or 1 p.m. ride. This is a weather-dependent event.

EAHS Class of ’64 reunion set for Aug. 14

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Area High School Class of 1964 will hold its 55th reunion Wednesday, Aug. 14 at the Terrace Bay Inn beginning at 5 p.m.

The deadline for reservations/payments is Aug. 5. Contact Darlene Anderson 906-280-7515 or Laurel Swanson at 906-233-7292.

Classmates are also invited to join in at lunch on Aug. 15 at the Stonehouse at 1 p.m. Let Swanson know if you are interested, as reservations are required.

St. Joseph Parish Picnic

PERKINS — The 60th Annual St. Joseph Parish Picnic will be held on Sunday, July 21 from noon until 4 p.m. Dessert and a beverage are included.

There will be bucket and large raffles and kids’ games. All are welcome.
