St. Anthony raffle ­winners for January

VA benefit presentation

ESCANABA — VFW Service Officer Patrick Holcomb will be giving a VA benefit presentation at North Woods Place Senior Living in Escanaba on Feb. 27 at 2 p.m. RSVP to Heidi by calling 906-789-2268.

Elks Auxiliary meeting

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Elks Auxiliary will be holding their February meeting on Thursday, Feb. 7. Social hours begins at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m. meeting to follow. The “Automatic Reservation” list will be in effect.

DAV meeting Feb. 4

ESCANABA — The next scheduled meeting for the DAV Chapter 24 will be held on Monday, Feb. 4, at 7 p.m. at the Military Order of the Purple Heart building located at 1202 Sheridan Road, Escanaba. All disabled veterans are welcome.

Breakfast at St. Thomas Sunday

ESCANABA — Breakfast will be served at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, located at 1820 9th Avenue North, Escanaba, on Sunday, Feb. 3 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. All are welcome, and children five and under eat free.

SERA meeting Feb. 4

ESCANABA — State Employees Retirement Association (Chapter 16) will hold member meetings Monday, Feb. 4 and Monday, April 1 at 1:30 p.m. in the conference room at the state building in Escanaba.

Corks and Kegs event planned at Elks Lodge

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Elks Auxiliary will be presenting “Corks & Kegs” on Saturday, Feb. 9 at the Elks Lodge 354 starting at 6 p.m.

There will be wine and beer sampling, hors d’oeuvres, bucket raffles, card raffles, door prizes and musical entertainment from Cory Williams and the Daydreamers. The event is open to the public.

A limited number of tickets are available at the Elks Lodge or by calling 280-7711.

AAUW movie night

ESCANABA — On Feb. 20, AAUW (American Association of University Women) will host a showing of “The Little Pink House.” The movie will begin at the Bonifas at 6:30 p.m.

“The Little Pink House” tells the true story of a woman who fights politicians and the pharmaceutical giant Pfizer to keep her house from being taken to make way for Pfizer’s new headquarters.

Members may bring snacks and drinks to share. This program is open to AAUW members and their invited guests.

AAUW is open to men and women holding an associate degree or higher. Founded in 1881, the organization is globally recognized for its advancement of equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, and research. For more information on AAUW, contact 474-6545.

Advanced Lions Club

Seventh Day Adventist food pantry hours set

ESCANABA — The Community Service Center food pantry adjacent to the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Escanaba is open from 1 to 4 p.m. on Monday and Saturday.
