St. Anthony’s to hold meat pie sale Dec. 6-7

WELLS — St. Anthony’s Church will be holding its annual meat pie sale Dec. 6 and 7. Pick up will be at St. Thomas Church in Escanaba from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. both days. Ten-inch beef and pork pies are available, but must be preordered by calling or texting Debbie at 906-399-4259.

44th Annual Deer Hunters’ Ball Nov. 17

PERKINS — The Perkins Lions Club will host the 44th Annual Deer Hunters’ Ball on Nov. 17 in downtown Perkins. Doors open at 7 p.m. Music for dancing will be provided by AJ the DJ until midnight.

Bazaar, luncheon Saturday in Gladstone

GLADSTONE — Holy Family Church will be holding its fifth annual Fall Bazaar and Luncheon Saturday, Nov. 17 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Soup, salads and sandwiches will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with homemade pies and bars for dessert. Homemade crafts and baked goods made by local artists and community members will be available for purchase. The event is sponsored by the Ladies Altar Society of Holy Family Church.

Forest Service Retirees’ Christmas Luncheon

ESCANABA — The annual Forest Service Retirees’ Christmas Luncheon will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 11:30 a.m. at the Buck Inn in Wells. In lieu of the white elephant exchange, please bring some non-perishable food for the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry. If you plan to attend, please let Pat know by calling 786-7926.

Audubon Club to meet

ESCANABA — The Bay de Noc Audubon Club will hold its monthly meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held in Room 961 of the Heirman Building at Bay College. The meeting is open to anyone interested in birding. There is no charge.

MARSP members to meet in Manistique

MANISTIQUE — Habitat ReStore Manager Eric Sherbinow will be the speaker at the Nov. 14, 2018 MARSP meeting. The meeting will take place in the Habitat for Humanity HiawathaLand conference room, located at 401 Deer Street in Manistique at 11:30 a.m. All retired school personnel from Schoolcraft and Eastern Delta Counties are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Gladstone library sets special holiday hours

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone School and Public Library will be open during regular hours Thursday, Nov. 15 and Friday, Nov. 16, for the opening of deer season. Thanksgiving holiday hours are:

Wednesday, Nov. 21 — 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Thursday, Nov. 22 — Closed

Friday, Nov. 23 — Closed

Regular hours will resume on Monday, Nov. 26.

Veteran council meeting

ESCANABA –The Nov. 14 Delta County Veteran Council meeting is cancelled. The next scheduled meeting will be on Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. at the Purple Heart Building located at 1202 Sheridan Rd.

Reservations needed for IXL museum social
