Former pastor comes to Immanuel Lutheran

ESCANABA — Immanuel Lutheran Church of Escanaba welcomes a former pastor to its pulpit this Sunday, June 17. The Rev. Gordon Thorpe served Immanuel Church during its “Diamond Decade,” when it not only celebrated 75 years of ministry, but also relocated from its restricted downtown site to its current venue on Lincoln Road.
During his years in Escanaba, Thorpe was active in community and civic affairs, especially in the areas of music and service organizations. Following his ministry at Immanuel, he pastored churches in Green Bay and Eau Claire, Wis.
Sunday’s service will be gospel centered, but will also highlight Father’s Day. All are welcome.
