Ericksen named Elks Lodge Officer of the Year

Ronald 'Tiger' Ericksen

ESCANABA — The members of the Past Exalted Ruler Association of Escanaba Elks Lodge 354 of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United States of America are pleased to announce that Ronald Ericksen, treasurer, has been selected as the Lodge Officer of the Year for the 2017-2018 Fraternal Year.

Ronald, or “Tiger” as many know him, has been an Elk member for the past 51 years. Having filled various officer positions over the years, he has graciously served as the treasurer of the Lodge for the past three years.

In performing his duty in keeping the books straight and bills paid, he consistently contributes to the success of the lodge outside of his official responsibilities. Ronald is a regular Sunday brunch volunteer, a Wednesday night bridge player, and a Thursday night bowler. Additionally, for all of 2017, he served as one of the chairpersons for the Friday night card raffle, often dressing quite colorfully to sell tickets to members and their guests.

Not one to be shy about telling you he’s not good with tools, he still volunteered more than a dozen hours helping with the demolition and remodel work performed at the lodge this past summer. He’s volunteered at the annual summer picnic, at the big raffle party, and countless other events.

At 76 years young, Ronald is not just a highly capable officer of the lodge, but also one of the most active members. The lodge is pleased to recognize Ronald for his years of service, and especially his accomplishments and contributions over the past year, and thank him for being an outstanding Elk and an excellent officer.
