ESCANABA — Proceeds from the second of the summer concert series at Northern Sun Winery in Bark River, the singing duo Genna and Jesse, benefitted the American Association of University Women (AAUW). The monies are allocated for the two scholarships AAUW sponsors at Bay College. These are awarded annually to women returning to college to further their education.

AAUW’s mission is to advance women’s educational, social and economic futures and to secure gender equity. The organization, established in 1881 is open to men and women holding an associate’s degree or higher. For more information, regarding AAUW call 474-6545.

The winery has another concert scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 13 beginning at 4 p.m. Free tours of the vineyard will be held at 3 p.m. Advance tickets can be purchased for $10 each, through the Chamber of Commerce or by calling 399-1212. Tickets at the door are $15. Concert goers are invited to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy an outdoor musical experience. Wine is available by the glass or by the bottle. Soft drinks and bottled water is also available for purchase.
