ESCANABA — Riverside Chevy garage in Escanaba is going to be a busy place Saturday, March 11, as they again host the Red Buck Sub-District Pinewood Derby Finals. Cub Scouts from the Red Buck Sub-District will fill the garage as 90 Cubs are scheduled to race. Each of the local Packs will be sending their top three finishers from their local Pack Pinewood Derby in each rank to the finals.

Joe Wilson, Red Buck Pinewood Derby Race Director is excited about having Cub Scouts from all across Delta County and Manistique come together for some good racing fun. Cub Scouts will race from Packs; 402 Manistique, 411 Escanaba, 414 Escanaba, 445 Bark River, 471 Gladstone, and 488 Rapid River.

The public is encouraged to come out and watch these boys race their cars down the track.

Registration and race times are as follows: Tigers register at 10 a.m. and race at 10:30 a.m.; Wolves register at 11 a.m. and race at 11:30 a.m.; lunch will take place, and registration resumes at 1:15 p.m. for the Bears, with racing at 1:45 p.m.; Webelos I register at 2:15 p.m. and race at 2:45 p.m.; and Webelos II register at 3:15 p.m. and race at 3:45 p.m.

The three top finishers in each rank will take home a trophy. The trophies are made locally at Customer’s Choice Awards, and are sponsored by Jerry’s Body Shop and Pro Auto Body.
