Birth Announcements

BARTOSZEK – Perronville residents Brent and Nicole (Supa) Bartoszek welcomed a baby boy, Aiden Andrew, on May 31 at 6:46 p.m.

Born at OSF St. Francis Hospital, Aiden weighed 7 pounds and 9 ounces and was 20 inches in length.

Aiden joined big brother, Keaton, at home.

Aiden’s grandparents are Holly and Ed Supa, Jr. of Iron Mountain, and Linda and Carl Bartoszek of Perronville.

Phylis Supa, Norway, and Judith Jansen, Iron Mountain, are Aiden’s great-grandparents.

WALKSNICE – An infant son, Maxwell Edward Robert, was born to Edward and Karen (LeMire) Walksnice of Escanaba. Maxwell was delivered at OSF St. Francis Hospital on May 15 at 8:10 p.m. He weighed 8 pounds and 12 ounces and measured 20 inches long at birth.

Maxwell has two brothers, Dylan and Zion.

Robert and Betty LeMire, Rick Nelson, and the late Wayne and late Loretta Walksnice are Maxwell’s grandparents.

SEYMOUR – Eva Catherine was born at OSF St. Francis Hospital on June 7 at 1:07 p.m. Proud parents are Alex and Sarah (Cherette) Seymour of Escanaba.

At birth, Eva weighed 5 pounds and 4.6 ounces and measured 17 inches in length.

She has two brothers, Eli and Ean.

Gigi and Edward Thoune of Iron Mountain, Marvin Cherette, Sr. of Escanaba, and the late Lawrence and Catherine Seymour of Escanaba are Eva’s grandparents.

Her great-grandparents are Gloria and Raymond Plank of Crystal Falls.

SANCHEZ – A baby boy, Damian Lee, was born June 1 at 3:20 a.m. to Amanda LeBoeuf and Daniel Sanchez of Escanaba.

Damian weighed 9 pounds and 6 ounces and measured 19.5 inches when he made his appearance at OSF St. Francis Hospital.

Six siblings welcome Damian.

Elliott Walters and Kathy Walters of Powers and Cindy Schalau of Wilson are the baby’s grandparents. Audrey Jansky of Florence is his great-grandparent.

Birth Announcements

PANATERA – New parents Deanna (Bougie) and Joseph Panatera of Chicago proudly announce the birth of their first child, Gabriella Grace (Gigi) on April 23.

Baby GiGi was born at Northwestern University – Prentice Women’s Hospital in Chicago. Delivered at 10:27 a.m., Gabriella weighed 6 pounds, 6 ounces and was 19 inches in length at birth.

Her mother, Deanna, is a former Escanaba resident. Proud maternal grandparents are David and Susan Bougie of Escanaba, and paternal grandparents are Philip and Maureen Panatera of Chicago.

GEREAU – Lillie Nebel and Alexander Gereau of Austin, Texas, welcomed a baby girl, their first child, born at Seton Northwest Hospital on April 1 at 7:54 a.m.

Cambria Jo Gereau weighed 8 pounds, 4 ounces and was 19.5 inches long at birth.

Joanna and Dan Carlson of Brampton, Joe Nebel, and Barry and Pam Gereau, all of Gladstone, are Cambria’s grandparents.

Great-grandparents are Ernie Nebel of Kipling, Barbara Harris of Gladstone, Jonalyn Lundberg, and Barry and Gloria Gereau, all of Rapid River.

GUINDON – A baby girl, Veda Carrie, was born at OSF St. Francis Hospital on May 27 at 11:30 a.m. Proud parents are Megan (Meeuwsen) and Brian Guindon of Escanaba.

Veda weighed 6 pounds and 8.4 ounces and measured 18 inches at her birth.

She joins big brother, Cedric, at home.

Joseph and Carrie Meeuwsen of Iron Mountain and Susan and Gerald Guindon of Escanaba are Veda’s grandparents.

Great-grandparents include Roger and Sue LeDuc and Beverly Meeuwsen, all of Kingsford, and Irene Eagle of Brampton.

TWAROGOWSKI – Escanaba residents, Jason and Jessica (Dagenais) Twarogowski, welcomed a daughter, born at OSF St. Francis Hospital on June 1 at 12:55 p.m.

Elaina Grace weighed 8 pounds, 1.5 ounces and was 18 inches in length at birth.

The baby joins three siblings at home, Aubree, Easton and Alexis.

Sherry and Patrick Dagenais and Christine and Joseph Twarogowski, all of Escanaba, are the baby’s grandparents.

DEMEUSE – Jason Demeuse and Macie Sexton of Perkins announce the birth of their daughter, Jaycee Marie, born April 28, at OSF St. Francis Hospital. She arrived at 9:32 p.m. weighing 7 pounds, 4.5 ounces and measuring 18 inches in length at birth.

Gary and Julie Sexton of Gladstone, Tom and Robyn Demeuse of Perkins and Brent and Roxanne Johnson of Oak Grove, Minn., are the baby’s grandparents.

Jaycee Marie’s great-grandparents are Tom Forvilly of Escanaba, Gary and Gayle Sexton of Gladstone, Bill and Karen Demeuse of Perkins, Brian and Kathy Dallman of Rock, Bob and Sandy Smith of Traunick and Dick and Toni Johnson of Coon Rapids Minn.

Her great-great-grandma is Dorothy Forvilly of Escanaba.

JOHNSON – Residents of Escanaba, Angela Mitchell and Kyle Johnson are pleased to announce the birth of their son, Henrick Jay.

Henrick was born at OSF St. Francis Hospital on May 30 at 4:11 p.m. He weighed 6 pounds, 15.3 ounces and was 19.25 inches in length.

Henrick joins his half-sister, Madalynn Nixon at home.

Grandparents are Scott and Cindy Mitchell of Flat Rock, Mel LaCosse of Manistique, and David and Barbara Johnson of Escanaba.

His great-grandparents are Eva Brandt of Gladstone and Jack Mitchell of Gwinn.

HUNT – Katelyn Kobasic and Remi Hunt, residents of Gladstone, welcomed a daughter, born at OSF St. Francis Hospital on May 23 at 6:03 p.m. Livia James weighed 6 pounds, 2.3 ounces and was 18 inches in length at birth.

The baby joins her sister, 21-month-old Lillian Marie, at home.

Livia’s grandparents are Tom and Rhonda Dykowski and Sam and Tina Hunt, all of Gladstone, and John James and Sue Kobasic of Escanaba.

Her great-grandparents are Grace Quaghebeur and O’Neill and Lois King, all of Escanaba, and Marguerite Buell and Barbara Phalen, both of Gladstone.

JENSHAK – A baby boy, Kolten Everett, was born May 11, to Raeann Johnson and Kyle Jenshak of Wilson. The baby was delivered at 9:29 p.m. at OSF St. Francis Hospital. He weighed 9 pounds, 4 ounces and was 19.5 inches in length.

Kolten joins one sibling at home.

Grandparents are Patrick Johnson of Escanaba, A’Lona Nelson of Covington, Ky., Renee Sundquist of Bark River, and Kevin Jenshak of Escanaba.

Kolten’s great-grandparents are Arlene Sundquist of Bark River, Mildred Jenshak-Lokken of Escanaba, Roger and Dusty Block of San Diego, Calif., and Ida Johnson of Escanaba.

SCHALK – A second son, Tyler Steven, was born to Tim and Heather (Bellmore) Schalk of Haslett, Mich. Tyler was born on April 9 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing. Tyler weighed 6 pounds, 14 ounces and was 20 3/4 inches long. He joins brother Lucas at home.

Grandparents are Scott and Kelly Bellmore of Hermansville, Linda Vivio of Norway, and Wayne and Linda Schalk of Hawks.

Great-grandparents are Eugene and Rosie Bellmore and Barbara Bacsik of Hermansville.

SCHULTZ A baby girl, Nala Susan, was born May 22, to Nicole LaFave and Desmond Schultz of Gladstone.

The baby was delivered at 9:01 a.m. at OSF St. Francis Hospital. She weighed 7 pounds, 3.2 ounces and was 17.5 inches in length.

Nala joins her sister, Ella, and brother, Cole, at home.

Grandparents are Mary and Larry LaFave and the late Thomas Schultz, all of Gladstone, and Sue and Bill Cook of Escanaba.

Her great-grandpa is Ernest LaFave of Escanaba.

BARNES – Marquette residents Shane and Amy (Roberts) Barnes welcomed identical twin boys, their first children, at Marquette General Hospital on May 10.

Abner Wilfred was born at 12:33 a.m., weighing 6 pounds and measuring 19 inches long. His brother, Ottis Jeffrey, was born at 12:34 a.m., weighing 6 pounds 1 ounce and measuring 17 3/4 inches long.

Maternal grandparents are Sue Roberts and the late Dan Roberts of Escanaba. Paternal grandparents are Jackie Barnes of Campbell, Calif., and Lloyd Barnes of Dublin, Calif.

TRIEST – Kristin (Johnson) and Jared Triest, Escanaba, are proud to announce the birth of their baby girl, Audrina Fay. She was born at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital on April 18 at 5:25 p.m. Audrina weighed 7 pounds, 15 ounces and measured 19 inches in length.

Harry Johnson, Mark and Janet Juhl, all of Escanaba, and Daryl and Bonnie Triest of Powers are Audrina’s grandparents.

Her great-grandparents are Bob and Caroline Iverson, Dave and Nancy Juhl, Dick Glover, and Arnold Johnson, all of Escanaba, and Bob and Stella Triest and Bob and Lenore White, all of Powers.

Hjalmer Olson is her great-great-grandparent.

ZEIGLER – Dennis and Danielle (Erickson) Zeigler of Escanaba welcomed a baby girl, their third daughter, born at Aurora Baycare Medical Center on May 1 at 1:49 p.m. Gracyn Nicole weighed 7 pounds, 15 ounces and was 22 inches long at her birth.

Gracyn joins sisters, Avery and Peyton, at home.

Grandparents are Cindy Erickson of Escanaba and Dennis and Karla Zeigler of Bark River. The baby’s great-grandmother is Lou Brunette of Escanaba.

JOHNSON – A baby girl, Hailey Jean, was born May 4, to Amanda (Brunette) and Dave Johnson of Gladstone.

The baby was delivered at 8:15 a.m. at OSF St. Francis Hospital. She weighed 8 pounds, 1.1 ounces and measured 19 inches in length.

Hailey will be joining her brother at home.

Grandparents are Brenda Brunette of Rock, Greg Brunette of Gladstone, and David and Diane Johnson, also of Gladstone.

Hailey’s great-grandparents are Bill and Judy Brunette of Gladstone.

ROBINSON – A baby boy, Gordon Silas, was born May 15, to Daniel and Tiffany (DeLoughary) Robinson of Schaffer. The baby was delivered at 1 p.m. at OSF St. Francis Hospital. He weighed 9 pounds, 3 ounces and was 20 inches in length.

Gordan joins four siblings at home.

Grandparents are Paul DeLoughary of Bark River, Donna Fredrickson of Escanaba and Daniel and Cindy Robinson of Ogden, Utah.

STEMPIHAR – Robert and Amanda (Madalinski) Stempihar of Duluth, Minn., announce the birth of their son, Oliver Michael, on April 18 at 12:21 p.m. Oliver weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces and measured 19.5 inches in length at birth. He joins his brother, Henry, age 2, at home.

Oliver’s maternal grandparents are Mike and Ruth Madalinski of Escanaba. Mark and Michele Stempihar of Wakefield, are his paternal grandparents.

The baby’s maternal great-grandmothers are Helen Veeser of Harris and Hazel Madalinski of Wells. His paternal great-grandmother is Eileen Stempihar of Wakefield.

DAHLIN – Gladstone residents Thomas and April (Reese) Dahlin welcomed a baby girl, their third daughter, on April 14 at 7:26 a.m. at St. Vincent Hospital. Eva Lynn weighed 7 pounds, 5.8 ounces and was 20 inches long at her birth.

Sisters Ally and Claire were happy to have Eva join them at home.

Michael and Lynn Reese and Donald and the late Shirley Dahlin, all of Gladstone, are Eva’s grandparents.

Great-grandparents are Charles and Mary Alanko of Gladstone and Geraldine Reese of Escanaba.
