IRON MOUNTAIN — The Music Co-op of Delta County highlights Money 2 Burn, based out of Kingsford.
The band consists of drummer Dave Bonetti, bassist James Plemel, lead vocalist Jacob Tyloch and lead guitarist Mark Monosso. At 36 years old, Tyloch is the youngster in the band; the other three musicians are in their 60s.
When asked how they came together, "Mark and Jim are longtime friends. Dave and Mark had played together in a band over a decade ago and actually reconnected through Facebook,” Tyloch explained. “Mark found me on Facebook as well, and we all just clicked. Instant chemistry as a band. We’ve been together as this unit for about a year and a half now, but it feels like longer. We're more than band mates; we're a family!"
Tyloch described Money 2 Burn as "a cover band [that] plays a variety of hits, ranging from Johnny Cash to [heavy metal band] System of a Down. And everything in between! We don't have any originals at this time but have talked about it as a possibility."
The band performs a range of places that have incldued Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, and down to Pray, Wisconsin.
“We absolutely love music and traveling around performing. In the short time we’ve been together, we’ve played at benefits, casinos, weddings, and much more,” said Tyloch.
He then shared a comical moment from a recent concert: "While in Pray playing a show for the Fourth of July, we experimented with pyrotechnics. I didn't let the guitar player know that they were aerial rounds rather than just fountains, and when the first shot went off, he nearly dropped his guitar mid-song."
