ESCANABA – Logan Veeser, 19, has been in the Delta County music scene since he started playing with the band Pickstop in 2023. Since then, the band has gained lots of traction, playing at local events like Rock the Dock and Escanaba’s Log Jam Music Festival. Members of the band include Members of Pickstop include Logan Veeser, Noah Dier, Kayla Hamelin, Brayden Mathias and Logan Mathias.

Under the persona “Ludington,” Veeser has been carefully crafting a debut album since late 2023, a self-produced experimental pop project. Veeser is extremely confident in his art, and he is thrilled to share it with the public.

The self-titled album consists of 11 songs along with 11 additional instrumentals and alternate versions. Influenced by a wide range of artists, such as experimental artists like Beck and Daniel Johnston to indie pop artists like Steve Lacy and Clairo, genre-hopping is prevalent in Veeser’s music.

From the catchiness of “Don’t Even Botha” and “Ludington,” to the raw, unfiltered heartbreak of “Dreaming” and the profoundly hopeful message of “An Act of Bravery,” the lyrical content of the songs range in emotional depth. There’s also a wide range of sonic components consisting of almost entirely live instruments played by Veeser, such as the piano, trumpet, guitar and synthesizer. Veeser emphasizes there is no use of AI in his art.

“Ultimately, I think that this album is about the uncertainty of life and how existence in itself is an act of bravery,” Veeser stated.

Tune in to “Ludington” Feb. 14 on all streaming platforms for what Veeser calls a “one-of-a-kind album experience.” To stay up to date on Veeser’s art, follow his Instagram at Ludington.music.
