Kallman brings clarinet to band for 17 years
Meet Michele Kallman, a clarinet virtuoso who’s been rocking the Escanaba City Band for a solid 17 years. Kallman’s musical inspirations include the legendary John Williams and the mastermind behind Hamilton, Lin-Manuel Miranda.
When Kallman isn’t jamming out on her clarinet, she’s busy shaping young minds as a dedicated 5th-grade teacher. But what really gets her excited about the City Band? It’s the joy of reuniting with everyone after a long winter hiatus and witnessing the magic when all the different musical parts come together to create something truly beautiful.
Outside of her musical and teaching adventures, Kallman’s got a knack for crochet and a passion for training her dog in nosework. Her pup Ruby gets to show off her scent-sniffing skills in trialing competitions. And of course, Kallman loves nothing more than spending quality time with her family and friends.
With her love for music and zest for life, Kallman brings a special harmony to both the band and her community.
