BARK RIVER — Northern Sun Winery, located in Bark River, will be host their Second Sunday Concert Series throughout the summer months.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door and can be purchased at Northern Sun Winery or at the Delta County Chamber of Commerce in Escanaba. Proceeds made from the ticket sales go back to local charities.

Also included in the ticket price is a vineyard and wine cellar tour beginning at 3 p.m. with music to follow at 4 p.m. In addition, a caterer will be available on site for attendees snacking pleasure. Those wishing to attend are welcome to bring a blanket, chair or own picnic. However, no carry-ins are allowed.

On July 9, the singing duo Genna and Jesse will be featured at Northern Sun’s concert series.

According to the artists’ website, www.gennaandjesse.com, they are defined “as a unique alchemy born of the quirky chemistry, intricate vocal harmonies and ardent storytelling which infuse their song-writing and vibrant performances.” Their music is inspired by their nomadic lifestyle and offers listeners glimpses of “their always moving world.”

The duo are currently touring internationally to promote their newest release, “Asphalt Rhapsody.” While on tour, Genna and Jesse will be featured at club venues, house concerts, restaurants, cafes, and festivals.

The singers choose smaller venues and try to leave as little of a “carbon foot print” as possible as they try to “shrug off music industry conventions in favor of doing what feels good, and this genre-defying dedication to being current and free has an exciting and irresistible effect.”
