Fred Minor and Ilsa Matthes

ESCANABA — Together with their families, Ilsa Marie Matthes and Frederick Lee Minor, Jr., are pleased to announce their engagement.

Ilsa is the daughter of Lloyd and the late Kristine Matthes. She is a 2010 graduate of Emporia State University in Emporia, Kan., with a degree in communication, and a 2006 graduate of Herington High School in Herington, Kan. She is employed as the news editor at the Daily Press in Escanaba.

Fred is the son of Ann (Kenny) LaBumbard of Gladstone and Frederick (Sally) Minor of Cooks. He is a 1992 graduate of Gladstone High School, and is currently employed as the tractor shop manager at Red Pine Equipment in Escanaba.

The couple is planning a June 2020 wedding.
