Katie Lee Ammel and Owen Robert Shoemaker

ROYAL OAK, Mich. — Katie Lee Ammel and Owen Robert Shoemaker, along with their parents, would like to announce their engagement.

Katie is the daughter of Steve and Brenda Ammel of Escanaba. Owen is the son of Rob and Angie Shoemaker of Ortonville, Mich. Katie graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology, and continued her education at Baker College with an additional associate’s degree as a physical therapist assistant. She is employed as a PTA for Beaumont Hospital.

Owen graduated from Oakland University with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science, and continued his education earning a master’s degree in exercise physiology. He is employed as a design engineer for Professional Sprinkler, Inc.

Both reside in Royal Oak, Mich. An August, 2020 wedding date is being planned by the couple.
