Cover Girls are Music Maker of the Month
The Music Co-op
(Sean Murphy Photography, Florida)
The name of the band is Cover Girls, which consists of Michelle Czygan and Cindy Collins. They have a unique blend of sounds that not only brings a fresh perspective to modern songs but also stirs up nostalgia. They take songs and make them their own, and love when the crowd joins in!
Michelle plays keytar, guitar and mandolin in the band but plays many other instruments for fun. Cindy plays guitar and drums and also plays many other instruments.
We have been playing music together for about 15 years with the band, Reflections, but recently found that many venues that are smaller or the atmosphere requires more acoustic style music, like having the two of us playing soulful, smooth vibes. It gives us a chance to work on the harmonies in songs we love.
We mostly do covers of all genres, but Cindy wrote songs for her son called “This is Me” and “Freedom.” And Michelle and her husband, Noel, wrote a song together called “Be the Change.”
Cover Girls was formed only at the beginning of the summer, but we have played twice at the Freshwater Lounge. We are in the process of promoting and lining up gigs for the spring and next summer. We are excited to be super-busy with both bands.
