William Conine and the former Priscilla Anderson were united in marriage on Jan. 27, 1951, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Howell, Michigan. Attendants were Carol Deutch and Bob Gallup. Mrs. Conine is a retired nurse who started as a nurses aide at the old St. Francis hospital and worked her way through school at Bay College, receiving her associate degree in nursing in 1984 and getting her RN. She continued working at the hospital and then at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers until her retirement. She has been active in the churches she has attended as Sunday school teacher, in choir and, after joining St. Elizabeth Ann Seton parish, she volunteered as a Eucharistic minister and lector. Her enjoyment of working with people led her to a stint as a greeter at Walmart after her retirement.
