AFA revamps website for families affected by dementia

NEW YORK — The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America has launched a newly redesigned website to help connect families affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia-related illnesses with vital support services, programs and information that can help them.

The new look and structure of www.alzfdn.org highlights many important programs and makes it easier to find the resources that users are looking for.

“Connecting families with dementia with helpful services and information is an essential part of our mission. This vastly upgraded site makes it easier for visitors to find important information on programs and services 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” said Charles J. Fuschillo Jr., AFA’s president and CEO. “These new improvements make our site more accessible, easier to navigate and more resourceful for those we serve.”

All of the website’s resources remain free to use for all visitors. Navigation has been streamlined and re-restructured to spotlight the pages and sections most searched by AFA’s site users. New sections include: “Understanding Alzheimer’s” and “Find Help.”

In addition, the new homepage spotlights many of AFA’s most-utilized services, including the ever-essential AFA Helpline, the recently launched Virtual Help Assistant and the National Memory Screening Program.

Some of the other key benefits of the new and improved website include:

— Optimized layout for mobile and tablet devices to improve the experience and serviceability for those who view the site on their phones or tablets.

— Enlargeable text for users who have vision impairments.

— Compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act, or ADA, to enhance accessibility for individuals with disabilities.

— Innovative side navigation displays allow users to easily access the main resources of the site.

— Available in English and Spanish.

The newly redesigned AFA website has been developed by Insite Website Design & Development.

Individuals can view the website at www.alzfdn.org to connect with AFA’s programs and services.

Starting at $3.50/week.
