Boddys celebrate 70 years of marriage

FORD RIVER — Fred and Kay (Colvin) Boddy celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary Wednesday, July 23 at their Ford River camp. Friends and family were present to honor the couple. The Boddys were married while Fred was in the Army, stationed at Chicago Navy Pier. Fred was a teacher and coach (football and girls basketball) for Gladstone Schools, retiring in 1990 but continued to coach for many years. Kay was a secretary at J.T. Jones School in Gladstone for 20 years, retiring in 1992.
The Boddys have four sons, Mike (Rene), the late Mark, Steve, and Scott (Maryann), 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The couple currently reside in Gladstone during the summer months and Bonita Springs, Fla. in the winter.
