Wilbees celebrate 60 years of marriage

MASONVILLE, Township — Wes and Joan (Stine) Wilbee recently celebrated teir 60th wedding anniversary.

The couple were married at St. Rita’s in Trenary on Nov. 2, 1963. Joan’s sister, Carol Stine Atherton, and Paul Roberts, friend of Wes, were attendants at the wedding.

A family dinner was held at The UP North Lodge to celebrate their 60th anniversary.

Wes worked at UPS and retired after 57 years. He then worked for Masonville Township for another 20 years. Joan worked for Lutheran Brotherhood and Dr. Uhazie after children were grown.

The couple like to camp and take their motorhome on various trips. Joan loves to play cards and making hand made crafts.

The children of the couple are Darren and Michelle Wilbee of Gladstone, Dale Wilbee of Trenary, Michele Wilbee (Joe Coppock) of Rapid River, and Michael Wilbee (Cassie) of Trenary. They also have five 5 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
