Tourangeaus celebrate 60 years of marriage

BARK RIVER — Wennell and Donna (Picard) Tourangeau, of Bark River, celebrated 60 years of marriage on June 29.

The couple was married at Sacred Heart Church in Schaffer on June 29, 1963. Original attendants were Winifred Sanville, Wayne Tourangeau, Margaret Dillabaugh, Joseph Picard, Cindy Carlson, and Warren Tourangeau.

Over 150 guests from several states attended an anniversary reception at the Eagles Aeries 1088, hosted by their children, on Saturday June 24, 2023. Music was provided by Cal and Casey Hyslop and Tom Sundquist.

Fr. Daryl Pepin blessed the couple’s marriage on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Bark River.

Both Wennel and Donna are retired, however they have many hobbies. Wennell is a member of the Knights of Columbus, Eagles Aeries 1088, and enjoys gardening, fishing and hunting. Donna is a former Foster Grandparent, who enjoys playing cards and visiting.

The couple’s children are Kevin and Sheri Tourangeau, of Bark River; Steve and Carrie Tourangeau, of Howell, Mich.; Colleen Burnard, of Escanaba, Mich.; and Wendi and Doug Matthews, of Escanaba. They have 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
