LaMarchs celebrate their 60th anniversary

William (“Bill”) and Janet (Bink) LaMarch

ESCANABA — William (“Bill”) and Janet (Bink) LaMarch will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on August 11, 2022. Bill and Jan were born and raised in Escanaba. After a move to California while Bill was stationed with the Marines, they moved back to Escanaba, where they raised their three children Debbie Micheau, Jean (Brian) Blaine, and Bill Jr. (Micky). They are the proud grandparents of seven grandchildren, Isaac, Amanda, Hunter, Parker, Cooper, Jayger and Sawyer; and great-grandparents to four, Johnathan, Isaac, Isaac and Guiliana.

Bill and Jan began their adventure together after they met at the Soo Hill quarry. Bill’s story is that Jan tried to catch his eye, but Jan’s version is more about Bill trying to show off for her attention. During their courtship he would often walk seven miles from Five Corners to Escanaba to see his girl (her dad only gave him a ride home one time)!

Bill and Jan were married at St Joe’s Church in Escanaba on August 11, 1962.

Bill and Jan have always considered themselves a team. Whether it’s countless community volunteer projects, supporting their family, or simply enjoying a night of bingo, where you find one you will find the other.

Their family wishes them many more years of happiness.
