WAUKESHA -- The Bay College baseball team used a six-run fifth inning to pull away for a dominant 11-5 win over the Carroll University jayvees here Friday.
Lucas Weinert led the Norse with four hits, two RBIs and a run scored. Flynn Morrison chipped in with three hits, five RBIs and three runs. Weinert double twice and Morrison homered and doubled. Owen Hanson, Oliver Dunn, Justin Popelka and Jesus Becerra-Rangel all collected RBIs. The Norse (6-11-1) had 11 hits.
Tyler Skufca got the win on the mound after six strong innings. He struck out four and walked two while giving up just two hits and one run.
The Norse led 3-1 entering the top of the fifth before their eruption. Two more runs in the sixth pushed their lead to 11-1 before Carroll scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh.
Bay plays a doubleheader at Bryant & Stratton College today and Sunday. Both doubleheaders start at 1 p.m. EDT.
