NEWBERRY -- The Bark River-Harris Wrestling team opened the season with a Quad event at Newberry High School Wednesday. The Broncos fell to Westwood 42-30 and beat Gwinn 42-6.
Freshmen Avry Corrigan defeated Westwood's Christian Ryan by fall at 25 seconds into the 103 pound match, Keaton Bartoszek defeated Westwood's Alana Nuorala by fall at 2:57 at 135, senior Lilian Stenberg lost to Westwood's Elliot Lemire (145), Tyler Racicot defeated Westwood's Tyler Lindhelm (152) and Gwinn's Alex Rautio (145) both by fall.
Kyle Adams defeated Westwood's James Piester (160) and Gwinn's Lynn Urmanski (171), both by fall. Hal Burton lost to Westwood's Jackson Vidlund and defeated Gwinn's Tyler McMillan (189). Austin Kleiman lost to Westwood's Sam Gillis and Gwinn's Josh Filizetti in the 215 pound bracket.
Freshmen Quentin Johnson had two pins at 215 in a jayvee match.
